About the library
Rethinking Rebuilding Stories carries a gathering beyond its place and time. It makes room for people to encounter an idea, understand its context and use what they learn.

A complete thought in 10–40 seconds. Clear, captioned and faithful to the contributor. An invitation to listen further.
The full interview or talk, with chapters and a transcript beside it. Context remains one click away.
An accessible web transcript, a downloadable text and PDF, and a separate editorial note with verified sources for further reading.
The intended public library will be free to watch and read, without registration. Each story will carry its own reuse terms. Open access does not automatically grant permission to remix music, images or performances.
Where the necessary permissions are secured, a story and its transcript can be openly licensed. Software can have a separate open-source licence. This library is growing as contributor stories and permissions are prepared.
Contributors retain their voice. Transcripts, translations and editorial commentary will be clearly distinguished.
The event film is playable; contributor stories are in preparation. Photographic material comes from the Alexandria event film.

A distinct RR website, one place to manage stories, and a video service that handles the heavy work.
Search by idea, contributor or theme. Move between short film, full conversation and reading without leaving the story.
Upload a film, generate a short and review the transcript. Publish to Stories when it is ready, or update and unpublish it later.
Published stories play directly from the library. A dedicated video service could later add adaptive quality for slower connections and larger audiences.
Start with five to ten recordings across several themes. Test the quality of the suggested extracts, transcript corrections, mobile playback and the ease of publication before expanding the collection.
Begin with continuous extracts. More ambitious edits, portrait reframing, sound mixing and branded graphics can run in a separate rendering service.
Retain independent masters, transcripts and edit decisions so the collection can move between hosting services.
Working in this version
Library search and theme filters; sample event-film playback; persistent video uploads with pause and resume; saved recordings and transcripts; subtitle-based AI story suggestions, saved editorial feedback, timecode adjustments, browser MP4 exports, transcript downloads, and editorial publishing with update and unpublish controls. AI processing requires available OpenAI API credit.
Production connections still needed
Adaptive video streaming for larger audiences; reviewed contributor recordings, captions and reuse permissions.
